Instead, it relied entirely on Server Log File Analysis. Every time a browser requested a web page, an image, or a document, the web server recorded a line of text containing the IP address, timestamp, and the requested asset. While accurate, extracting meaningful marketing data from these massive text files was incredibly complex and resource-intensive.<\/p>\n<p>A major paradigm shift occurred with the introduction of Urchin Software. The ultimate destination is a pure backend architecture. In the near future, tracking will occur entirely server-to-server via APIs.
